Caring for Loved Ones with Dementia Over the Holidays

As the holiday season approaches, I find myself reflecting on the meaningful connections we’ve built over the years. Your support and partnership have been invaluable, and I am deeply grateful for the trust and collaboration we share.

This year, I would like to take a moment to highlight two organizations that are close to my heart: The Alzheimer Society Wellington Waterloo and Bereaved Families of Ontario.

As a board member of The Alzheimer Society Wellington Waterloo, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible impact this organization has on individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The holidays can be particularly challenging for those living with these conditions, as well as for their caregivers. Michelle Martin, our Executive Director, recently shared some insightful tips on how to support loved ones with dementia during this busy season in a CBC interview. Her advice emphasizes the importance of simplifying holiday activities and maintaining routines to create a more comfortable and joyful experience for everyone involved.

Additionally, I would like to acknowledge the Bereaved Families of Ontario, an organization dedicated to providing peer support and resources to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The holidays can be a poignant reminder of those we have lost, and Bereaved Families of Ontario offers a compassionate community where individuals can find solace and understanding. Their commitment to helping people navigate their grief journey is truly inspiring.

As we celebrate this festive season, let us also remember those who may be facing difficult times. Your continued support not only strengthens our business relationship but also contributes to a broader community of care and compassion.

Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful and joyous holiday season.

Cheers,
