We are constantly looking for great talent, both for our clients and also to work with us as part of Newman HR Consulting. I am delighted to announce that Julie Newman has joined our team on May 5th.
Julie Newman is a Certified Human Resources Leader with 15 years of experience in the HR field. Julie is passionate about creating and supporting welcoming and inclusive workplaces. She now brings her learnings of people-centered operations developed from 11 years of senior leadership experience in the non-profit sector to the business community. In this time, she has supported newly unified organizations in successfully harmonizing HR practices while keeping organizational culture top of mind. Julie is a well-rounded HR professional with expertise in building organizational culture, performance management, leadership, recruitment, employee relations, and health and safety. As part-time Faculty in the School of Business at Conestoga College, she has most recently taught employee wellbeing and psychological safety in the workplace.
Julie’s undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and her Masters of Medical Science have provided her with planning and analytical skills that allow her to bring practical solutions that balance HR best practices with organizational needs. Julie thrives on finding and implementing innovative solutions to support organizational strategies; especially those with limited resources.
Throughout her career she has grown from experiences overseeing a variety of operational areas in addition to HR. These include risk management, quality, communications, privacy, and customer service. As a life-long learner, she loves applying her learnings to business problems.
On a personal level, Julie has been a member of Immigration Partnership’s Work Steering group for over seven years; Julie is acutely aware of the challenges immigrants face with respect to employment and is actively involved in exploring solutions with community partners. In her spare time, she enjoys connecting with her family, cottaging in Muskoka and all things basketball. Her approach to life can be summed up by Michael Jordan’s quote – “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships”.
